Plans for a $1.8 million expansion at Beresford Estate in McLaren Flat have been lodged with Onkaparinga Council.
Bickford’s Group, which owns the popular Blewitt Springs Rd winery, has applied to build a new microbrewery and restaurant catering for nearly 100 people.
The new building, to be located next to its Tasting Pavilion, would feature indoor and outdoor eating areas — with seating for 98 guests — as well as a new bar, kitchen and adjoining lawn area.
Craft beer maker Vale Brewing started out in McLaren Vale and was purchased by Bickford’s in 2017.
A boiler shed — to house the brewing equipment — and an extra 21 parking spaces are also planned.
According to the plans, the restaurant would be open to the public from 10am to 5pm 7-days a week with brewing occurring from 7am to 10pm.
Bickford’s bought the property in 2012 and opened Beresford Estate for tastings four years ago.
The plans will now be assessed by Onkaparinga Council.
