An Encounter Bay man has pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child exploitation material after he was charged a year ago.
Brenton James Fredberg appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday facing multiple counts of possessing child exploitation material.
Hugh Woods, for Fredberg, told the court the matter had been called on so his client could enter guilty pleas.
Fredberg first appeared in the Victor Harbour Magistrates Court in late 2022, after being charged on March 30, 2022.
He was found in possession of child exploitation material, with some of the material containing a child under the age of 14.
At the time, Fredberg’s bail agreement forbid him to be around children under the age of 18 without a parent or guardian present or be in child-related work.
At Thursday’s hearing, Mr Woods also asked to vary Fredberg’s bail address to Seacombe Heights, which the prosecutor said they weren’t opposed to providing there wouldn’t be children present at the address.
The prosecutor said those pleas were accepted and did not proceed with the others.
Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal committed Fredberg to the district court for submissions at a later date.
