Boy, 14, charged with armed robbery of Express Deli at Woodcroft

Two weeks ago, staff at a southern suburbs deli were robbed at knifepoint. Now, a teenage boy has handed himself in to police.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after an armed robbery at a Woodcroft deli.

Police allege the masked boy threatened staff at Express Deli, on Investigator Drive, with a knife and demanded cigarettes and money around 1pm on Tuesday, July 14.

He fled the deli on foot with off with packets of cigarettes and cash from the till.

No one was physically injured in the robbery.

The Morphett Vale boy handed himself in to police after CCTV footage was released on Tuesday.

Footage allegedly showed the boy boarding a bus a short time after the incident.

A staff member, who asked to remain anonymous, said the arrest was good news.

“Hopefully there’s some justice done now,” she said.

The boy was charged with aggravated robbery and appeared in the Christies Beach Youth Court on Wednesday.
