An Uber driver has pleaded guilty to stealing women’s clothes from Big W after he was caught wearing a pair of women’s pants.
Bimaldeep Singh, 35, stole three items of women’s clothing from the department store at Colonnades, Noarlunga Centre on August 28.
The Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Thursday heard police attended the store and found Singh with $60 worth of items that could not be resold.
“They’ve been called there because they’ve had a report of a male filming female customers at Big W,” a police prosecutor said.
“They’ve located the defendant standing outside the store with security, he admitted to taking three female clothing items from the store and presented them to police.
“He was wearing a pair of female pants underneath his pants.”
Singh told police he had taken the items from the store without paying and that it was a mistake.
“I’m a hardworking guy and I just don’t know what happened,” he told the court.
Magistrate Rodney Oates sentenced Mr Singh without conviction to a $200 12-month good behaviour bond and ordered he pay back the $60 to Big W Colonnades.
