A man has denied any guilt of a fatal hit-run of a pedestrian at Rosewater earlier this year.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Shane Robert Singleton, 45, pleaded not guilty to driving without due care, causing death and failing to stop and render assistance.

Mr Singleton was charged over the death of a pedestrian after he allegedly hit a woman on Addison Road on April 30.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old woman from the Far North, was struck by a white Commodore wagon.

She was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.

After the incident, Mr Singleton, of Rosewater, presented to the Port Adelaide police station and was released on bail.

At the time, Rosewater residents described hearing screaming and seeing a woman laying on the road after the incident.

“There was a lady laying down on the road with the ambulance trying to resuscitate her,” resident Nelson Campos said at the time.

“Then a group of (people) were there crying. It was a very sad moment.”

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Magistrate Brett Dixon committed Mr Singleton to the District Court for trial in January.
