The votes are in and with your help we’ve crowned SA’s cutest baby born in 2021.
Six-week-old Jacob James Rivett from Gawler South was voted cutest in the state after mum Ruby Meyer shared her family’s heartbreaking story.
Just one week after Ms Meyer found out she was pregnant with Jacob, her fiancee and Jacob’s father Jake Rivett unexpectedly died after collapsing at work.
Ms Meyer said after a tough year it was special to know Jacob was officially SA’s cutest bub.
“I look at Jacob and our other son Cooper and I think of Jake, they’re living proof of their father so to know that people think he’s cute is special,” she said.
“Sometimes as a parent you obviously think your baby is cute but you don’t know if you’re being bias so it’s nice to know people think he really is cute.”
Four-month-old Hazel May Edwards from Arno Bay on the Eyre Peninsula took out second place in the competition.
Mum Kate Davies said it would be fun to remind Hazel of her cutest baby credentials one day on her 18th birthday.
“It’s just such a surprise and a real shock but we think she’s absolutely adorable,” she said.
“She loves laughing and giggling, she’s a very smiley little girl and she loves her big sister, Lily.”
