In the fast paced, glitz and glamour world of beauty, South Australia’s skin queen says there is a seat at the table for everyone.

Sabrina Watts of SKIN Aesthetics in Findon, has taken out the crown as the state’s best back to back in the Advertiser’s best of series, saying she’s busier than ever.

“There is roughly a two to three month wait to get in these days’” Ms Watts said.

“The business is growing so much I’m going to have to start looking for a new space soon and someone to help out with basic skin care just to keep on top of it all.”

It was only a little over two years ago, Ms Watts opened SKIN Aesthetics, providing not only the people of South Australia with the finest quality treatments, Ms Watts says people from all around the country fly in to see her.

“I have a lot of clients from Melbourne, Sydney and parts of Queensland fly in for treatments.

“I would love to maybe expand the clinics interstate one day and be able to assist more people on their journey.”

When Ms Watts isn’t busy with her clients, she spends time with her five-year-old daughter and the real star of the show, her dog Prince.

“He’s so used to humans because he’s with me everyday so when he sees a dog he doesn’t know what to make of it,” she laughed.

While many of us are sure to pick up a hobby in our teens years, only those with undeniable talent are able to transform it into a full fledged career, with Ms Watts being one of those talents.

“I was 15 when I started this, my mum was busting my ass saying ‘Sabrina you need to do this seriously’ because I was just doing it for fun back then,” she said.

“It’s all about the knowledge, you can have all the machines but if you don't have the knowledge behind you and the true skill set, you’re going to get bored of it very quickly because it’s not your passion.

“With the beauty industry it’s so easy to do to so many things, you can be doing waxing, make up, laser. I’ve always promoted sticking to one or two things that you have a real knowledge and skill about and you will excel with that.”

While the world of beauty can be a very “who you know” industry Ms Watts says there is no longer room for it to be clique environment and women should be lifting each other up and showing support.

“There is a lot of space for us all to be successful,” she said.

“I would have other clinics come in to see what I was doing, what I was using but at the end of the day that are not you, only you have you’re knowledge and you should be spending your time up lifting those around you.”
