More than 250 jobs are on offer in South Australia and the perks include cheap booze and grocceries.
Dan Murphy and BWS – which are a part of the Endeavour Group, Australia’s largest drinks and hospitality business since they detached from the Woolworths Group – have set out to employ 4400 new staff members nationwide.
In SA alone 14 Dan Murphy’s stores from the city to the country have customer assistant openings including Gilles Plains, Glenunga, Golden Grove, Highbury, Marden, Mount Barker, Mount Gambier, Munno Para, Noarlunga, Norwood, Pasadena and St Peters plus an almost ready to open Glenelg shop.
BWS Eastwood, Elizabeth and Loxton are also looking for new staff with more positions expected to become available in October.
Between the two businesses, 250 mostly casual positions are available across the state with 20 hours a week up for grabs in anticipation for a busy summer.
“We encourage people from all walks of life to apply – from university students to retirees,” Endeavour Group chief people officer Alison Merner said.
“We are looking for motivated people who are service-minded and have a keen interest in the world of drinks.
“We work with spirit and we’re team players and we expect the same from our team members, so if you bring the can-do attitude we will teach you the rest.”
Dan Murphy’s has double the vacancies compared to last year as the company tackles the impacts of Covid-19.
Like supermarkets, the drinks retail stores are considered essential in all states and territories and have been fully operational while the nation navigates the pandemic and Ms Merner said the group had enforced strict procedures to keep both customers and staff.
“The well-being of our team, customers and communities is our highest priority,” she said.
“We strongly encourage our team members to get vaccinated and to support the Covid-19 vaccination roll out, we offer full time and part time team members paid leave to get vaccinated.
“We have a wonderful team culture and team members, including casuals, receive ongoing training and have access to great benefits including team discounts on drinks and groceries.”
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
