A 21-year-old man on bail while accused of rape has faced court over allegations he contacted the complainant two times in two weeks.

Shane Anthony Gray, of Munno Para, appeared via video link in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court last week on charges of attempting to prevent a person from giving evidence and failing to comply with a bail agreement not to contact that person.

Mr Gray appeared on the same charges three weeks ago which allegedly happened three days after he was accused of raping a woman in Adelaide.

At that time a police prosecutor alleged he had called the alleged victim of his rape charges on an unknown number and told her to “drop the charges”.

Court documents showed the first call allegedly came three days after the incident took place.

Mr Gray was released on bail by Magistrate Mark Semmens on June 23.

The second charge of attempting to prevent a person from giving evidence was alleged to have happened two days after his release.

Documents released by the court showed the second charge also related to the alleged victim – a person his bail agreement stopped him from contacting.

Mr Gray was remanded and will return to court in August.
