A highly-anticipated, new aquatic centre in Adelaide’s north will be opening its doors to the public in June, with exclusive membership offers available for purchase as of today.

The City of Salisbury has just announced that the highly anticipated redeveloped Salisbury Aquatic Centre will open its doors from Monday, June 24, 2024.

The star attractions of the centre’s state-of-the-art, $29.9m upgrade, include two indoor pools, a health club, a 50-metre outdoor pool, a splash pad and waterplay area, and a triple water slide tower standing at 10 metres tall.

The City of Salisbury said the centre was nearing practical completion and was set to be handed over to BlueFit – a national leisure management group who will be managing the centre’s operations – in early May, with the indoor pools recently filled, new carpark, driveway and landscaping nearing completion, and final touches currently being added to the outdoor pool areas, waterplay features and water slides.

An initial round of exclusive membership offers will go live from 12pm Monday on the Salisbury Aquatic Centre website, with the first 200 people to sign up for the Foundation Membership to receive full health club and aquatic access for $16 a week – 20 per cent off the normal price.

Following this, two further exclusive pre-sale opportunities will be offered at limited numbers before opening general memberships.

Foundation members will enjoy unlimited access to the Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s health club and aquatic facilities, group fitness classes, functional training and more, but there will also be other memberships available for people wanting more specific access to certain features of the facility, such as aquatic use only.

The Centre will also be offering learn to swim programs for children of all ages and is currently accepting expressions of interests in enrolment now.

The Aquatic Centre’s redevelopment was jointly funded by the council and state government, developments for the upgrade first began in September 2023 when Salisbury Council deputy mayor Chad Buchanan told The Advertiser the local pool would be closed over the summer for a “facelift”.

Mr Buchanan said “the old pool had been there for around 50-60 years, so it was time for something new.”

The new Aquatic Centre will operate year-round, giving the community constant access to state-of-the-art health, recreation and fitness opportunities.
