Rebecca Lynda Majchrak, 34, sobbed as she was jailed for more than nine years for her significant role in entering and ransacking a home, a crime which was planned at her daughter’s birthday party.
Majchrak, of Hillbank, and her co-offenders, Wendy Anne Paget, of Adelaide, and Damian Anthony Green, of Cobdogla, were found guilty at trial of multiple charges, including robbery, assault and false imprisonment.
The Adelaide District Court on Monday heard that Majchrak and at least three other offenders forcefully entered the Two Wells home on September 8, 2017.
A man and a woman were inside.
“One of the male offenders either used or threatened to use a taser against (the man) causing him to fall backwards and on to his bedroom floor,” Judge Jane Schammer said during sentencing.
The man was assaulted, had a knife held to his neck and was detained for 45 minutes, with his hands tied behind his back with electrical tape.
He suffered a concussion, a fractured nose, damage to his eye socket and multiple lacerations.
The group stole three cars, three motorbikes, a trailer, money and electronic devices.
In September 2017, Stuart James O’Neill had just left the Mongols but still owed $18,000 in drug money to the gang’s national sergeant at the time, known only as AM.
Majchrak urged O’Neill to participate in the violent break-in so he could pay back some of the debt.
O’Neill, who is a former member of both the Gypsy Joker and Mongols motorcycle clubs, was sentenced to nine years and five months – with a non-parole period of five years – for the home invasion and other unrelated crimes.
The court heard Majchrak, who is a mother of four, is currently pregnant with another child who was likely conceived after the jury’s verdict.
“The offending was extremely violent, premeditated offending,” Judge Schammer said.
“The victims continue to relive the horror of that night and live with the emotional consequences of it.”
Majchrak’s supporters gasped as Judge Schammer sentenced her to nine years and nine months jail, with a non-parole period of four years.
“You played a leading and integral role in organising the offending, which required you to recruit others who had the physical strength to undertake the (violent) acts,” she said.
“You continued to maintain your innocence and have not expressed any remorse for the offending.”
The sentence was backdated to August 24.
The court previously heard Majchrak would be appealing against her conviction.
