The name of the young man charged with causing the death of a Pooraka nurse by dangerous driving last month has been revealed.

Ingle Farm man Prabnoor Singh, 20, on Tuesday appeared for the first time in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on a charge of causing death and causing serious harm by dangerous driving.

Represented by Patrick Liptak, Mr Singh, who was on bail over the allegations, made no pleas to the charges.

The crash occurred about 10pm on August 5 and killed 31-year-old Renown Park nurse Harpreet Kaur.

Police alleged Mrs Kaur and her 40-year-old husband were driving in their Hyundai Elantra when it and Mr Singh’s Toyota Camry collided at Pooraka.

After colliding, the Hyundai crashed into a tree near Pooraka’s notorious Montague Road and Henderson Avenue intersection.

Mrs Kaur died shortly after while her husband was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.

In the immediate aftermath of the crash, as Mrs Kaur’s death was announced, her friends and family remembered her as a kind and generous nurse.

Mandeep Kaur told 7NEWS at the time she couldn’t believe the tragic news when police told her.

“When police told me I thought no, that can’t happen,” she said.

“It’s still hard for us to believe she’s not with us. It’s really hard.”

None of Mrs Kaur’s family were present in the court on Tuesday while Mr Singh was supported by three other men.

Magistrate David White adjourned the matter for Mr Singh to next appear in October.
