A serial fast food counter jumper and former Muslim says she has been left “extremely embarrassed” by her actions.

On Friday, Nooria Halake, 20, faced the Elizabeth Magistrates Court by video link, having been arrested for other, unrelated offending.

The court heard over a course of 18-months, Halake, jumped over counters at a McDonald’s and Hungry Jack’s, one in Salisbury Plains and two in Adelaide CBD in 2022.

Halake also jumped the counter of an On The Run store, taking a packet of cigarettes before assaulting the staff member, calling her a “b***h, h*e and a white dog”.

“She said she would smash her (the victim) head in, if she wasn’t so drunk,” the police prosecutor said.

Halake pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour, damaging property and assault.

Footage posted to social media shows Halake going behind the McDonald’s counter, throwing food and verbally abusing staff on December 29, 2022.

Halake says “I’ll beat you up and I’ll leave,” before taking drinks and food and calling one staffer a “dumbass b***h”.

“She damaged a glass fridge door … she entered a restricted area, pulled the door off it’s brackets and smashed it on the ground,” the police prosecutor said.

Halake’s defence counsel told the court his client has been struggling with alcohol addiction and battling homelessness.

“She was effectively homeless and commenced a highly unstable circumstances,” he submitted.

“She began staying at various people’s home or forced to live rough on the street.

“At times she was so desperate for accommodation, she resorted to sexual favours in return for a place to stay the night.”

The court heard through Halake’s addiction, she began to move away and forget her Muslim culture.

“She wants to but this behind her and move forward,” defence counsel said.

“She is extremely embarrassed and ashamed of her conduct.”

Halake will be sentenced next month.
