Despite only opening her clinic a little over 12 months ago, SA’s newly-crowned best cosmetic injector says there is a lot more to the industry than meets the eye. See the top five.

In a time where small business are just getting back on their feet, one Prospect clinic is booming and has officially been crowned the best in the biz.

After working at the Royal Adelaide hospital for 14 years, Michelle Davies decided to follow her dreams, jumping into the cosmetic pool and hasn’t looked back since.

“I’ve always had an interest in beauty and cosmetics … it wasn’t until six years ago when I decided to take leap into the industry,” Mrs Davies said.

Just a little over 12 months ago, Mrs Davies decided to take another leap and start her own Clinic, Tailored Cosmetics.

“People come from all walks of life with medical conditions they have had for years, and to be able to help improve their quality of life and appearance, is so fulfilling to be a part of,” she said.

“I wanted to give my patients a different environment to enjoy their procedures, where they can feel safe to discuss their aesthetic concerns, so I decided to go out on my own and do things my way.”

Mrs Davies prides herself on her clients retaining their individuality but embracing a new them.

“It’s about giving the patients their confidence, it’s never about what I think they may need done or what society says they may need.

“We don’t always see the beauty in our faces when we are looking in the mirror and some people do walk through the door with unrealistic expectations.

“Not every patient will be a good fit for every procedure or treatment, it’s not a one size fits all, all our treatments are client-specific.”

“If I was in the same position, I would want the same advice given to me.”

In her six years in the industry, Mrs Davies has watched a lot of trends come and go but says the key to a good cosmetic injector is education.

“I’m a big advocate for cosmetic enhancements but do it right and you will look fantastic,” she said.

“I love building that trust with clients, honesty is always the best policy and I always want to be honest with them.”
