An Elizabeth Park man who allegedly stabbed two men at the Midway Tavern on Father’s Day has made a second attempt at home detention bail in court.
Two Elizabeth Park men were allegedly stabbed during a “fairly violent fight” in the car park of the Midway Tavern on September 6.
Jacob Anthony Donhardt, 21, also of Elizabeth Park, faced the Elizabeth Magistrates Court via video link on Monday accused of the alleged stabbing of the men after his mother was allegedly called a “c*nt”.
Police claim Nicholas Feast, 28, was stabbed in the abdomen and Jordan Feast, 26, was stabbed in his face and arm at 7.40pm on Father’s Day.
A police prosecutor previously told the court one of the men was allegedly stabbed in the right cheek, effectively “puncturing into his mouth”.
However, Donhardt’s lawyer on Monday said a new Smithfield Plains address had been provided by the accused’s mother, which is owned by family friends.
“They’ve indicated to the defendant’s mother they are prepared to house him,” the lawyer said.
The court heard an initial address was rejected by Magistrate Nitschke.
“The address you have put forward turned out to not be suitable,” Mr Nitschke said.
“I’d like to know the small details of this (new) address.”
Ordering a further home detention inquiry report, Mr Nitschke was concerned the accused was trying to “shop around” and go down the list of most suitable addresses until one was found.
Donhardt will next appear in court later this month.
“We will review the situation then,” Mr Nitschke said.
