Two Elizabeth Park men were allegedly stabbed during a “fairly violent fight” in the car park of the Midway Tavern on Sunday night, a court has heard.
Jacob Anthony Donhardt, 21, also of Elizabeth Park, faced the Elizabeth Magistrates Court via video link on Monday accused of the alleged stabbing of the men after his mother was allegedly called a “c*nt”.
Police claim Nicholas Feast, 28, was stabbed in the abdomen and Jordan Feast, 26, was stabbed in his face and arm at 7.40pm on Sunday.
A police prosecutor told the court one of the men was allegedly stabbed in the right cheek, effectively “puncturing into his mouth”.
“The second person also was stabbed to the stomach... with a knife in the car park,” the prosecutor said.
He said the “fairly violent fight”, which was captured on CCTV, involved “multiple parties”.
Both men are being treated in the Royal Adelaide Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Donhardt, who has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing harm, was arrested an hour later when he returned to the tavern.
For Donhardt, Matthew Mead, said his client was having a father’s day lunch with family members before the altercation began with another group of men.
He said the accused’s mother was called a “c*nt” at one stage and Donhardt’s father allegedly had his nose broken during the fight.
Magistrate Brian Nitschke, who said it appeared there had been a “violent dispute” at the tavern, remanded Donhardt in custody and he will reappear on September 14.
