Dylan Cain Aspinall caught with four guns during search of car at Munno Para West

A man who made waves on social media for his distinctive mugshot – including a face tattoo of an ex lover – has found himself on the wrong side of the law again.

'Scary number' of illegal guns in Australia

A man with a distinctive face tattoo of an ex-lover tried to dodge police again after he was caught with multiple guns, including a pirate-themed firearm, during a search of his car.

Dylan Cain Aspinall, 34, captured the public’s attention after SAPOL released his mugshot and is now on the wrong side of the law again for serious firearms offending.

Based on Aspinall’s Facebook profile, it is believed he was in a relationship with ‘Tamika’ – the name tattooed above his left eyebrow – in 2017 but now has a new partner.

Aspinall was due to face sentencing submissions in the District Court on Monday but the court heard a psychological report wasn’t ready.

Northern District patrols observed a black Holden Commodore sedan travelling through the backstreets of Munno Para West on May 28, 2021.

Checks revealed the car was bearing stolen number plates.

Police followed the Commodore to Greenlea Court where it abruptly stopped and Aspinall fled on foot.

Patrols chased Aspinall and quickly arrested him nearby.

Upon searching the car police found a loaded .22 Ruger pistol located in the driver’s door pocket, a sawn-off over/under shotgun, a sawn-off .22 bolt action rifle and a 410 Boito shotgun.

Aspinall, of Modbury North, pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing a firearm and one count of possessing ammunition.

The court previously heard Aspinall had been jailed for aggravated serious criminal trespassing, aggravated assault and drug trafficking.

SAPOL sought the assistance of the public in 2017 to locate Aspinall, who was a wanted parolee at the time.

“Dylan Aspinall, 30, is wanted for a Parole Board Warrant that was issued earlier this year,” the post read.

“Dylan Aspinall, is caucasian, 175cm tall, 80kg, medium build, blue eyes and a bald head.

“He has a distinctive tattoo above his left eyebrow and on his neck.

“Police ask anyone who sees Dylan Aspinall to not approach him but to contact police immediately on 131 444.”

Social media users flocked to the post to comment Aspinall should be easy to find, considering his distinguishing tattoos.

“Keep running circles around them brother aha hbd for 2morro bro,” one man commented.

Aspinall was arrested by police over a month later.

In the District Court on Monday, Judge Paul Muscat adjourned Aspinall’s charges until next month.
