A teenager has admitted to deforming his girlfriend’s nose in a bloody attack, before trying to dissuade her from custody to drop the charges.

Korbin Blane, 19, pleaded guilty to causing harm with intent in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after his terrifying domestic violence rampage.

During Blane’s bail application in November, the court heard a witness found the victim bleeding from her face and on the ground of a Morphett St apartment building on September 3.

“When this witness approached her, she noted that her nose was completely displaced and that the complainant was very distressed,” the prosecutor said.

The 18-year-old woman was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital where her nose was treated over the next few days.

Blane, of Elizabeth, was also initially charged with choking, but the court heard the charge was being withdrawn by prosecution.

The court heard Blane then dissuaded or attempted to prevent his girlfriend between September 23 and October 7 at Northfield from attending as a witness in judicial proceedings – which he also pleaded guilty to on Wednesday.

Blane also pleaded guilty earlier to two counts of assaulting hospital workers, which occured on July 27, last year at Woodville North and one count of assault causing harm with a weapon, occuring on June 20, last year at Adelaide.

Elizabeth Porter, for Blane, told the court in November his former partner was pregnant and he was desperate to be out in the community to be with his first child, which was due in less than two weeks.

Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal denied Blane bail at the time, saying the allegations were serious and the victim needed to be protected.

On Wednesday, Magistrate Simon Smart committed Blane to the District Court for arraignment in June.

Blane will face sentencing submissions for the other charges next month.
