A Windsor Gardens man on multiple child sex offences has pleaded guilty to two of the charges within a month of his arrest.
Daniel Joseph Fitzgerald, 65, has confessed to maintaining sexual relationships with two children.
Timothy Blake, for Fitzgerald, told the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday that two of his client’s charges were being brought on early so he could enter guilty pleas.
The court heard Fitzgerald maintained an unlawful sexual relationship with a child by engaging in two or more unlawful sexual acts with or towards her in a northern Adelaide suburb this year.
“I’m pleading guilty to that sir,” Fitzgerald told Magistrate Simon Smart.
Fitzgerald also pleaded guilty to unlawfully maintaining a sexual relationship with a second child in a northern Adelaide suburb this year.
The maximum penalty for those charges is life imprisonment.
Last month, Fitzgerald denied the assistance of a duty solicitor after his arrest and did not apply for bail.
Fitzgerald, of Windsor Gardens, is also charged with three counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 14 years, three counts of gross indecency and one charge of inciting an indecent act by a child.
Court documents revealed Fitzgerald allegedly caused the children to perform sexual acts on him in the other’s presence.
He is yet to enter pleas for those charges.
The remaining charges were adjourned until June.
