A $20m upgrade of Golden Grove Rd to begin next month

Works will begin on a $20m upgrade of Golden Grove Rd in early September, but power and water supply could be affected for residents.

$20 million Golden Grove Rd upgrade

Work will begin on a $20 million upgrade of Golden Grove Rd early next month.

A Transport Department flyer delivered to nearby houses said the first stage of the upgrade, on the stretch of the road between One Tree Hill Rd and The Grove Way, would take several months to complete.

It said the work would be undertaken Monday to Saturday between 7am and 5pm, with some intermittent night works.

The flyer advised residents would be notified of any possible interruptions to power and water supplies.

The long-awaited upgrade includes:

A NEW roundabout at the intersection of Hancock Rd and Golden Grove Rd;

UPGRADING the intersection of Yatala Vale Rd, The Grove Way and Golden Grove Rd with new turning lanes;

ON-ROAD bike lanes on both sides of Golden Grove Rd.

Some bus routes will be temporarily relocated during the work.

Access to properties will not be affected.

The upgrade’s second stage – from Park Lake Drive to south of the Golden Grove Rd, The Grove Way and Yatala Vale Rd intersection – are expected be completed after the North East Public Transport Study is released.

The study is being conducted by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and several private engineering companies to determine future transport needs in the northeast.

The State Government, who will not say when the study will be released, has been sought for comment.
