THE logo for the new $100 million city high school has been released — with the motto “tomorrow, today”.
Adelaide Botanic High School’s teal-green and grey emblem is branded on a four-panel shield, with the letter “A” symbolising the Frome St school’s location in the heart of Adelaide.
The wave pattern is designed to represent students’ “natural curiosity”, while the horizontal lines depict the six-storey school’s “vertical form”, according to Education Minister Susan Close.
Dr Close said the logo and motto would reflect the campus’s “innovative design”.
“The new brand really is contemporary design at its best and beautifully represents the desire to connect today’s learning with tomorrow’s expectations,” Dr Close said.
“Students must be prepared for an ever-changing future and workforce and the school’s new identity complements its overall innovative design.”
The release of the logo coincides with the launch of the school’s website ahead of the first parent information night on March 19.
The 1250-student school is on track to open in time for Term 1 next year after construction work started in late 2016.
Adelaide Botanic High will accept only Year 8 and Year 9 students in 2019, with the school aiming to have classes in Years 8-12 by 2022.
The Frome Rd school will share an enrolment zone with Adelaide High, allowing parents in the catchment area to nominate a preferred school for enrolment.
The government has yet to finalise the enrolment criteria to manage demand and student numbers at the two schools.
