Young man dies in workplace accident at Mount Gambier engineering company

SafeWork SA is investigating after a young man died last week in workplace accident at an engineering company in Mount Gambier.

SafeWork SA is investigating a workplace accident that led to the death of a young man in Mount Gambier last week.

Emergency services were called to the premises of a Mount Gambier engineering company following reports of an accident just before 1pm on Tuesday, May 21.

A young man involved in the accident died at the scene.

A SafeWork SA spokesperson said they were notified of the man’s death and began making inquiries into the tragedy the same say.

“SafeWork SA was notified of a fatality at an engineering company in Mount Gambier on Tuesday, 21 May,” a spokesperson said.

“SafeWork SA inspectors and investigators were sent to the scene and are continuing to make inquiries.”
