A young woman had a win in court after she was allegedly caught tipping fantasy down the sink during a police raid.
Katelyn Christal McInerney, 25, had one of her drug trafficking charges dismissed because police took too long to investigate.
A prosecutor asked the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a three week adjournment, saying Ms McInerney was charged with two other drug trafficking offences.
The court heard the three charges weren’t currently jointly charged but it was “very critical” they be heard together as it was a continuation of offences.
“All three files together have a very strong case,” the prosecutor said.
The court heard Ms McInerney was allegedly present at a Croydon property when police searched the house and found drugs on March 26.
“She was seen to be actually tipping out some of that fantasy when police arrived at the premise as well,” the prosecutor said.
“She did not own that premise, that person that owned the premise at the time was actually incarcerated.”
Ms McInerney is also charged with commercial drug trafficking, relating to a search at Semaphore Park on May 27 and another count of drug trafficking at Semaphore Park on March 4.
The court heard the other file involved “a much larger” amount of fantasy.
Counsel for Ms McInerney asked for the charge to be dismissed.
Magistrate Simon Smart agreed, saying prosecution had “more than ample” time to make a charge determination and dismissed the trafficking charge from March 26.
Ms McInerney, of Semaphore Park, will appear in court later this month for her other charges.
