From humble beginnings as just one tradie with a work van to a team of plumbers offering 24/7 services across Adelaide, Horncastle Plumbing has been a business success story.
The reputation of the booming Adelaide business has continued to grow and Cal Horncastle’s plumbing service has now been voted as South Australia’s best plumber in The Advertiser’s recent poll.
Mr Horncastle attributed the success of Horncastle Plumbing to the buy-in of his hardworking team plumbers and staff who all shared the same philosophy.
“We are putting a lot of effort in customer service and building a good culture … I know it‘s cliche but it really is an effort that we are putting in and everyone who works here is on board with the philosophy that its customer first,” he said.
He said the trajectory of the growth of his business came from demand and Horncastle Plumbing had come a long way in a relatively short period of time.
“I started in 2014 and began with just me and a van and then we picked up from there, I hired an old schoolmate about a year or two in as another plumber and now we’ve got nine of us,” he said.
“It’s all been pretty organic, we haven’t been trying to grow bigger, it has just been as we’ve gotten busier we are just trying to make sure we are meeting expectations of the clients.
“Most of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals which is pleasing for us.”
He said Horncastle Plumbing had a few regular commercial clients but the majority of the company’s business was residential domestic maintenance.
Mr Horncastle paid tribute to his team of plumbers who he said worked hard to ensure customer satisfaction, leading to positive recommendations within the community.
