Construction of new park at Glenside Cedar Woods development to begin this month

Work on a new public park at Glenside that will link up to the Adelaide Parklands is set to begin this month.
The 15,000sqm park – part of the $400 million Glenside project by developer Cedar Woods – will include a walking and cycling path around its perimeter, as well as playgrounds for young and older children.
It will also have a basketball court, shelters and public barbecues.
The park will be constructed at the corner of Fullarton and Greenhill roads, with a walking path connecting it to Victoria Park directly opposite.
It is expected to be finished by autumn next year.
Cedar Woods SA development director Mark Pivovaroff hoped the park would become a drawcard not just for people moving into the Glenside development, but also nearby suburbs.
“The park’s location near the corner … will make the park a highly visible gateway into Glenside,” Mr Pivovaroff said.
“It forms part of a network of parks, landscaped open spaces and walking paths at Glenside that connect the community.”
There are now 300 people living in the development, which began in 2018.
A new group of townhouses – worth between $700,000 and $1.4 million – were recently opened to the market, with half of them selling to interested buyers within two days.
Some of them include built-in lifts.
Owners moved in to the development’s first six-storey apartment building in July, as well as more than 60 townhouses last year.
Construction of a second apartment block is ahead of schedule, with completion expected mid-next year.
At completion – set for 2028 – the development will have 1000 homes.
