The first apartment owners are moving into the $400 million Glenside development as construction moves ahead of schedule.
A total of 77 new apartments have opened up in the ‘Botanica’ block – 67 of which have already been sold.
It includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments across six floors.
Strong demand for the apartments meant construction of the building began shortly after the wider Cedar Woods development started and took a total of 15 months.
Cedar Woods development director Mark Pivovaroff said the apartments were “spacious” and residents would have an “enviable lifestyle”.
“Residents will benefit from the community amenities at Glenside which are shaping
up well, with work completed on the community park adjacent to Botanica and civil
works well underway on the development’s 15,000sq m main reserve,” Mr Pivovaroff said.
Diego Garcia-Bellido and Iballa Rodriguez have bought a top-floor, three-bedroom apartment which they share with their children, Nicolas and Lorenzo.
They are some of the first people to move into the block.
“We’ve been in Adelaide for seven years after moving here from Spain”, Mr Garcia-Bellido said.
“We’ve been renting an apartment in nearby Rose Park and love the area and having
lived in apartments in Spain for many years enjoy the low-maintenance lifestyle that it
affords.”
He said it was a “special moment” to buy their first home in Australia.

Meanwhile, the development’s second apartment building, ‘Grace’, is ahead of schedule and will be finished in mid-2021.
More than 60 townhouses were completed on the 16ha site last year.
Cedar Woods began preliminary work at the site in June 2017, including the axing of 83 large trees.
The State Planning Commission approved stage one of the development in December 2017.
Glenside will have 1000 homes and is expected to be completed in 2028.
