Patrick Bannah and Jonathan Zahinda standing trial for alleged rape of 15-year-old girl
An singer allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at a party in a bedroom – while another man is accused of then sexually assaulting her again.

Two men, including an award-winning recording artist, allegedly raped a teenage girl at a party before she was told to drop the charges, a court has heard.
Patrick Morie Bannah, 28, and Jonathan Zahinda, 26, are standing trial in the District Court, denying they preyed on the intoxicated child.
Mr Bannah, from Elizabeth Grove, is an award-winning afrobeat recording artist and a music engineer. The Liberian singer and songwriter, is also known as ConCcoins is known for several hits.
Ahura Kalali, for the prosecution, told the District Court in his opening statement the alleged victim was at an 18th birthday party in an Adelaide Airbnb apartment in October 2020.
The court heard the alleged victim drank alcohol for the first time and tried cannabis before going into one of the bedrooms.
Mr Kalali said Mr Bannah then came into the bedroom and allegedly started touching the alleged victim’s vagina.
“She told this person to stop. She didn’t want to do it,” he said.
The court heard the alleged victim tried to push Mr Bannah’s hand away but couldn’t physically muster up the strength.
Mr Bannah allegedly went on to attempt to sexually assault the child again before leaving the room.
Mr Kalali said Mr Zahinda then came into the bedroom later in the evening and also allegedly raped the girl.
The court heard the alleged victim’s friend came into the bedroom and saw Mr Zahinda under the covers and yelled “Stop, she’s only 15”.
The police conducted an investigation and Mr Zahinda then sent the alleged victim a message.
“The message was quite lengthy, but it did say along the lines of ‘drop the charges’,” Mr Kalali said.
The court heard the alleged victim recognised Mr Bannah by photos on his Instagram page ‘Con-C-coins$’ and his tattoo sleeve while her friend identified Mr Zahinda as the other alleged offender.
Mr Bannah, and Mr Zahinda, of Bordertown, are charged with rape and unlawful sexual intercourse.
Mr Bannah is also charged with attempted rape and attempted unlawful sexual intercourse while Mr Zahinda is further charged with dissuading a witness.
They pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial before a jury continues.
