East End Flower Market took out the top spot with the Adelaide florist’s colourful creations attracting the favour of voters.
“It’s very exciting, obviously its been a tough year for everybody and we’ve been really excited that our customers have backed us the whole way through this,” manager Bonnie Muir said.
“They’ve really trusted us to be able to still the spread the love to those family members they maybe haven’t been able to see.”
The Halifax Street shop closed its doors during the pandemic and went to a delivery-only model.
But Mrs Muir said that didn’t stop business from booming.
“We’ve been very lucky, we’ve gotten busier than normal,” she said.
“It’s been really positive for us though to be able to hire a few more staff which is really exciting in this time and its something we’re really grateful for.”
With restrictions impacting florists’ ability to import flowers, East End Flower Market turned to local farms to keep up with demand for native Australian blooms.
“It’s been great to be able to build the relationships with local farms while we haven’t been able to import as many flowers,” Mrs Muir said.
“It’s great because it has a wider impact because those farms are also employing local people to do processing and things like that so its all great for SA.”
Woodville’s Itty Bitty Bunch took out second on the list and Adelaide floral institution Tynte Flowers rounded out the top three.
