A man is accused of punching an 80-year-old man in the face, before threatening members of the public with weapons only days later, police allege.

Madhieu Gak, 25, had his bail application withdrawn in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after he allegedly committed a series of violent offences.

During his bail application last week, the court heard Gak allegedly boarded the 200C bus on September 22 and didn’t pay for a ticket.

“He was not wearing a face mask and he was carrying an open can of alcohol – he was visibly intoxicated and abusive to passengers,” a police prosecutor said.

The court heard an 80-year-old man stood up to get off the bus and Gak allegedly said to him “get out of the way”.

“The defendant then punched the victim to the face – causing bleeding, bruising and swelling,” the police prosecutor said.

The man required hospital treatment.

The court heard Gak allegedly entered the Seaton bottle shop and stole a four pack of mixed drinks on October 1.

As he exited the store, the shop attendant followed him.

“The defendant pulled what is described as a machete from his pants pocket and said ‘don’t come near me, I have nothing to lose’,” the police prosecutor said.

Gak was then allegedly seen crouching down and sharpening a knife on the path at a property inspection at Glandore on October 2.

“The defendant approached the first victim and from about 2m away held a six inch kitchen knife,” the police prosecutor said.

Dak allegedly called the woman racist and said “you’re lucky I don’t have a machete,” before saying to another woman “I’ll f------g kill you”.

The court heard Gak suffered injuries from allegedly jumping fences to get away from police.

Gak, of Seaton, is charged with multiple offences, including assault, theft and affray.

“There is risk of reoffending and escalating behaviour,” the police prosecutor said.

“The three separate matters all involve threats of violence.

“He appears to be generally out of control.”

The police prosecutor told the court that Dak had other pending assault charges.

“Bro why do you bring that s--t up, I’ve already been to court for that,” Dak said.

In the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Alfio Grasso adjourned Gak’s charges until November.
