Free public transport for fans heading to Crows AFLW final

Crowds heading to the Adelaide Oval for Sunday’s AFLW preliminary final between the Crows and Geelong will be able to use public transport for free.

Crowds heading to the Adelaide Oval for Sunday’s AFLW preliminary final between the Crows and Geelong will be able to use public transport for free.

Transport Minister Stephan Knoll told The Advertiser it would be an added bonus for fans hoping to see the Crows beat the Cats and advance to the grand final.

“There will also be additional buses on standby after the game to manage increased demand as people leave Adelaide Oval,” he said.

As entry is free to the preliminary final, patrons will need to advise they are travelling to and from the event to access the free travel.

It comes as the State Government launched its rebranding of the free Footy Express transport service for AFL games at the Oval this season, starting with the Crows hosting Hawthorn tomorrow.

It will now be called the “Game Changer Footy Express”, replacing the MAC Footy Express following the Motor Accident Commission being disbanded on July 1. Mr Knoll said the aim was “there to get you to the game safely, especially for those who enjoy a drink or two at the footy”.
