Some of the city’s top small bars are teaming up for the first ever Peel Street Festival.

The laneway party will feature four nights of entertainment and pop-up bars while local artist Alexandra Bellas will paint a mural.

Peel St’s Malt & Juniper, 2nd & 6th, Maybe Mae, Therapy, La Rambla, La Moka, Clever Little Tailor, Gondola Gondola, Paloma and Peel Street Restaurant are all part of the festival.

Scott Quick, who owns Alfred’s Bar and Malt & Juniper, said the event would bring together some of the city’s best bars.

“We want visitors to treat the Peel St precinct as a single venue and bar hop around the area, enjoying a range of unique and expertly created cocktails,” Mr Quick says.

“The Peel Street Festival is an exciting opportunity for the bar owners to create a community feel and encourage visitation to the laneway and the extensive selection of bars situated here.”

The festival is presented by Bombay Sapphire, so each venue will create a gin cocktail around one of the 10 botanicals found in the spirit.

“The festival will be immersive and interactive,” Mr Hollands said.

The Peel Street Festival is on from Thursday, December 12, until Sunday, December 15.
