Best sites to get a quick PCR test in South Australia and the worst

A number of Covid testing sites will close as temperatures are set to soar across SA. See how long you will have to wait with our opening hours’ guide.

South Australia records lowest COVID-19 daily case numbers this year

PCR and rapid antigen testing sites will close earlier than usual on Monday as temperatures soar across the state.

SA Health announced that eight sites would close from Bordertown through to Port Augusta for a total of seven hours.

This is the third consecutive week sites have closed across the state due to the heat.

Premier Steven Marshall announced on Monday six more people have died with Covid and there have been 1505 new positive cases reported.

Mr Marshall said 281 were in hospital, with 25 in ICU - four of whom were on ventilators. Some 8,880 tests were carried out on Sunday.

The Premier said “hundreds of thousands” of RATs were arriving every day and millions had been ordered.

“This is a major logistical exercise - there were a small number of schools and pre-schools that didn’t have the RATs and we will rectify this in the next 24 hours.”

He did encourage those with symptoms and close contacts to get a PCR test if they could as they are far more accurate than a RAT.

There are more than 80 testing sites across SA, including almost 30 in metro Adelaide.

A crowdsourcing information website has also been developed, “Find a RAT”, to allow people to access data on which chemists and supermarkets have stock available.
