A young Barossa Valley man has made a shock plea to an indecent assault allegation on just his second appearance in court on the charge.
Mackenzie Ward Dalliston, 24, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to the indecent assault charge in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
The allegation stemmed from an incident in May this year, the day after Dalliston played a senior game of football in a outer-northern suburbs amateur football league.
Dalliston also played junior games at SANFL club Central Districts.
Court documents stated the victim was a 24-year-old woman and the alleged assault occurred in the northern suburbs.
Dalliston’s lawyer told the court the plea would be entered prior to the matter being next listed at the Tanunda Magistrates Court.
Dalliston, from Lyndoch, stood stone faced as he told Magistrate Ben Sale he was pleading guilty to the charge.
His parents sat in the court as Mr Sale heard their son admit to the allegations.
Mr Sale accepted the plea and sent the matter to the Tanunda court to be finalised in August.
