Willaston has unveiled former Adelaide Crow and SANFL legend Andrew Jarman as its senior coach for the 2021 Barossa, Light & Gawler Football Association season.
Donnybrooks president Aldo Pasin was delighted to welcome the two-time Magarey Medallist to the club.
“We’re really rapt with him,” he said.
“We had our advertising out there and he applied along with several others.
“We had a panel of four that went through all the applicants and he was the best one suited for the Willaston Football Club.
“Jars is all about teaching young talent coming through and help get their games up.”
The club parted ways with ex-coach Shaun Baker midway through the season, but Mr Pasin believes Jarman will fit the club well.
“Obviously we feel he’s a good fit for our group, he’s a good teacher, we feel he’ll be a good teacher of the game and he’ll lift the morale of the group on and off the field,” he said.
“We’ll support him all the way.”
Jarman last coached Adelaide Football League side Gaza in 2019, with the club relegated in his final season in charge.
However, Mr Pasin believes he’s the best fit for the role, even with his role within Adelaide’s football media.
“If Jars wants to mention the Donnybrooks and the club in the media, then that’s great, but it’s not all about what we can get out of him, it’s more about who’s the best fit for our playing group, that’s the most important thing,” he said.
“All of those are just added ticks.
“The club’s done its due diligence, and we feel he’s the right man for the job.”
