Plans to expand an Adelaide Hills retreat have been unveiled with new glamping accommodations, tiny homes and a hobby farm.
Logged by Parkwood Group Pty Ltd, the development would see additional accommodation to 40 Downers Road, Oakbank, with six glamping tents, two tiny homes, a swimming pool and a ‘wellness pod’ across 18-acres.
In a statement provided by the owners, the glamping resort would also provide and promote Adelaide Hills produce.
“We intend to establish a number of partnerships with local primary producers for
supply of locally produced food and beverages that guests can access through in-room mini bars but more importantly will partner with a variety of primary production centred visitor experiences to give guests an authentic taste of the Adelaide Hills.”
The site, which is currently home to a four-bedroom Airbnb accommodation at the front of the property, was sold to the new owners in October 2020 for $1,070,000.
The report also states the owners wish to establish a hobby farm on the property in the future with animals such as sheep, alpacas and horses as well as establishing a chicken run and a mature fig grove.
“These elements would be available to guests as part of their stay, affording them the opportunity to interact with farm animals and sample fresh produce which is characteristic of the region and consistent with the lifestyle of neighbouring rural living properties in the locality,” the report said.
The development is open for public consultation until November 9.
