A man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly threatened staff with a hammer while attempting to rob an Athol Park IGA.
Police say they were called to the IGA on The Avenue just after 2.30pm on Monday after reports of a robbery.
Police also allege the man threatened staff with a hammer before taking off on his bicycle.
CCTV footage obtained by 9News shows the man being confronted by a staff member before allegedly presenting a hammer from a pocket in his pants.
9News reported the man was spotted taking a few items and refused to handover his backpack to staff when questioned.

It was also reported that the man then swung the hammer at the shop owner’s face.
No-one was injured in the incident.
The 28-year-old man from Pennington was located by police a short time later and arrested.
He was charged with theft and aggravated assault and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
