A junior staff member made the blunder

Taking to the r/Australia thread on Reddit, she shared a photo of the receipt.

"Lovely note that a restaurant left on my friend’s dinner receipt," the poster wrote on their post.

On the receipt, you can see an order for one glass of $12 Terre Forti Pinot Grigio and a note underneath that read: "Ice in it f**ken bogans."

According to Yahoo News, a junior staff member confessed to writing it, unaware that it would appear on the customer's receipt.

"This is absolutely hilarious but also very amateur"

The post has now received over 12k upvotes and over 1.7k comments. Some people criticised the pub staff member for their blatant unprofessionalism while others said it was just a "funny mistake."

"At the end of the day, doesn't matter what's 'expected' or 'appropriate'. The customer has paid for it and can drink it however they like," one top commenter pointed out.

Another said, "This is absolutely hilarious but also very amateur to leave the notes on the receipt for the customer."

"If you can't do your job without showing basic human respect, you need to find an industry that limits your contact with the public," a third claimed.

Other people said the staff member was "a legend" and called out that table's multiple alterations, implying they were being overly fussy.

"No dressing on the salad, extra gravy, mash instead of chips in fish and chips, medium-well steak AND ice in a drink?" one person wrote.

"She isn't wrong. It's f***ing winter and you are in Victoria, the f**k you need ice for? Just say you don't like wine and order a Cruiser. Nothing wrong with that," someone else concluded.

Then someone else admitted, "If I got this on my receipt, I would find it hilarious."
