Kmart has sparked a frenzy among fans with its take on a must-have beach accessory – one that comes “without the price tag”.

The budget retailer, often lauded over its “dupes” of high-end wares, has this time found favours thanks to its Eva Beach Tote.

Many have compared the $15 item – which comes in three colours – to viral US brand Bogg Bags’ products, which retail for $US90 ($134) and somewhat resemble Crocs shoes with their hole-covered designs. After going gangbusters on social media, the company is projected to sell $100 million worth of stock by the end of 2024.

Despite only launching last week, a Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au the product had “already become a fan-favourite” among shoppers.

“Our customers have really resonated with the Kmart Eva Beach Tote as it offers a stylish and functional design at an unbeatable, everyday low price,” they said.

“Its affordability, combined with versatile use, resonates with shoppers looking for value without sacrificing on-trend design.”

The bag’s “stylish design, roomy interior, and durability”, the spokesperson added, makes it “ideal for beach days, sporting activities and everyday use”.

“I wanted one of these with the $90 price tag …$15 at @kmartaustralia and now I can consolidate 3 beach bags into one,” TikTok user Corinne Mayfair shared, alongside a clip of her packing things into the bag.

“I still wanted a Boggs bag after I saw an article online about this. But now that I see your video, I might just get it from Kmart. Thanks for changing my mind and saving me money,” one viewer wrote in response to the video.

“Yep I bought one yesterday and love it,” a second commented.

Corinne pointed out that if you did intend to use the bag “all the time and it’s getting bashed around it would be worth buying the legit one”.

“But for weekly swimming lessons this is good,” she wrote.

The product also sparked a huge response when it was shared by Instagram page, Kmart Bargains, who described the purchase as a steal.

“Spotted these online the other day and have been hunting them down ever since. Goods secured today,” they captioned the post.

“Absolute bargain for $15 and perfect for shopping, outings with the kids, beach etc!”

“I’ve been eyeing off the much more expensive ones for a while and couldn’t justify the $$ but these are much more affordable and would be perfect!” one Instagram user commented.

Discussing the retailer’s high sales numbers and $1.4 billion net profit in February, Kmart Group Managing Director Ian Bailey said customers were resonating with Kmart’s “low price, high value” offering.

“We delivered really incredible products to customers at an amazing price,” he told Sky News.

“I know that sounds like a real basic statement, but it really does make a difference to customers, particularly at these times.

“We were able to translate that into really good profit outcomes for our shareholders, really because of the power of our business model and our ability to design products all the way through to getting products into customers’ hands.”
