DogFX voted SA’s best dog groomer

A Prospect dog grooming salon has been voted South Australia’s best dog groomer.

No challenge is too big when it comes to dog grooming for DogFX owners, Meagan Rachwal and Daniel Minchin.

The husband and wife duo have been the proud owners of the Prospect dog grooming salon for three years and say the best part of their job is “all the cuddles and wagging tails”.

“We can do all dogs – any age, any behaviour, any breed any size,” Ms Rachwal said.

From chihuahuas to Irish Woolfhounds, the team at DogFX are committed to providing stylish haircuts for all pups great and small.

Ms Rachwal is an award-winning dog groomer who has been in the job since she was 17 years old.

She now passes on her expertise and “force free” approach to the business’ staff of fifteen dog lovers.

“I’ve been taught over the years how to deal with difficult dogs without using excessive force,” Ms Rachwal said.

“(I’ll have) a groomer holding the dog, and we make sure he’s happy … and I’m so quick so I can get the dog done in half an hour – in and out.”

With the current cost-of-living crisis, the pawsome pair have worked hard to ensure that their services remain accessible with competitive pricing and Afterpay available.

“We’re doing everything we can to make sure everyone gets their dogs looked after,” Ms Rachwal said.

Outside of grooming, DogFX provide doggie daycare and dogsitting services and can even help throw your furbaby their very own birthday pawty.

“Seeing the same dogs come through (with) your regular customers, you get attached to their dogs,” Mr Minchin said.

“It’s like their dogs are almost like your dogs as well.”

After DogFX was voted South Australia’s best dog groomer, the owners were overwhelmed with the love they have received from their community.

“It just makes me realise how much that hard work has paid off,” Ms Rachwal said.

“(We’re) very thankful …(and) happy that we won.”
