South Australians looking to escape the winter blues can nab a direct flight to Bali from $280 one way, as Jetstar bolsters its local fleet with 58,000 additional seats.
From July 21, Jetstar will replace its existing Airbus A320s with two new 220-seat A321 aircraft for Adelaide to Denpasar flights – adding an extra 46 seats per flight.
The budget airline said the A321s also offered quieter cabins, wider seats, bigger overhead bins, in-flight USB charging and seat-back device holders.
To commemorate the launch of the new aircraft, select one-way fares between Adelaide and Bali are starting at $280 between July 24 and September 14.
Bookings can be made through Jetstar.com.
Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox welcomed Jetstar’s decision to base the new aircraft in Adelaide.
“South Australians’ love affair with Bali continues, with Indonesia once again our biggest international destination,” Mr Cox said.
“We’re delighted that two of Jetstar’s newest aircraft will now be based in Adelaide providing next generation aircraft product for South Australians.”
Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said the investment in additional flight capacity was a sign SA’s tourism economy was bouncing back after Covid-19.
“At a time that aviation is on its way to recovery, this shows confidence to invest in South Australia,” she said.
