Pagean organisers are encouraging families to get into the festive spirit at home next weekend, as Father Christmas and his reindeer arrive at Adelaide Oval.
More than 100,000 people entered the online ballot, requesting varying numbers of tickets for nest Saturday’s twilight event. However, with only 20,000 tickets available, many families missed out.
So, children young and old are encouraged to “pageant at home”, by downloading free assets from the Pageant website and collecting colouring activities from sponsor, National Pharmacies. The Pageant will be broadcast live from 7pm on Channel 9.
“While the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is going to be quite different from the traditional Pageant that we know and love, we can definitely feel like we can all come together no matter where we are and join in keeping the traditions alive at home before watching this historical moment,” director Brian Gilbertson said.
Billy Dumanovic, 7, said he was excited to watch the Pageant on TV at the end of what will be a festive family day. “We’ll be putting up the Christmas tree,” he said. “We are also going to have a pizza party that night where we put picnic blankets in front of the TV and eat pizza during the Pageant.”
His friend Stasia Vuckovic, 6, said she would “do some chalk drawings on our footpath with my younger brother” after baking Christmas cookies with her mum.
