The winners of South Australia’s Mightiest Mullet competition have been crowned by readers of The Advertiser.
Mitchell Bain, 21, of Coromandel Valley, and his luscious locks, took out the over-18 category while Zarley Thompson, 2, of Roxby Downs, won the under-18 competition
Mr Bain said he hoped his win would encourage more people to grow the Aussie hairstyle icon.
“I always wanted one and never had the courage to just cut it,” he said.
“Then it got to a really hot day and I thought ‘Bugger it’ and cut my hair off to change it into a mullet.”
Zarley’s mother, Krystal Thompson, 37, said her son’s hairstyle matched his “rambunctious, very cheeky larger-than-life” personality.
