'Where is the adults-only suburb for evil people like me who hate kids?'

"I am so sick of going places and kids are just everywhere screaming and I just have to put up with it," the Melbourne woman complained in a viral rant.

Woman calls for 'adult only' suburbs

A Melbourne TikTok user, who goes by the name Baby Soja, has posted a video after a visit to her local pool, saying she was "so sick" of children being "allowed everywhere."

(Something parents my relate to considering we're currently still four weeks away from school returning.)

Her viral rant has been viewed 250k times, and has attracted thousands of comments, because it is controversial, to say the least.

"I would like to know when somebody is planning on opening an adult's only suburb, where everything in it is only for adults," she begins.

"Because I am so sick of going places and kids are just everywhere screaming and I just have to put up with it."

The producer for The Project added that she had just gone for a swim and, despite there being a separate pool for children, there were kids "jumping and screaming" in the lap lane pool - not even doing laps.

"And that is just allowed because they are allowed everywhere.

"I just feel like for people like me that are evil and hate kids we should have our own suburb where we can just be quiet and undisturbed."

To be honest, many parents would probably feel the same way... sometimes.

"I know I'm evil"

The video was posted along with the caption: "I know I'm evil but they're SO loud please I want peace and quiet are there adults only pools in Melbourne?"

The caption ended with #kidfree #childfree.

Many viewers agreed with the TikToker's stance - yes, even parents.

"I love kids and I still love this idea and would move there," one said of the adults-only suburb idea.

Another agreed, writing, "As a parent of two small children, I completely understand what you're saying and respect that child-free people need space too. "

This viewer took the concept to the extreme: "Child free pools, restaurants, movies and planes would be amazing - from a mum."

"You used to be a kid, mate"

Other viewers did not like the idea at all and accused the creator of a bit of narcissism.

"You used to be a kid mate... ya know. So, get over getting older," was one brutal suggestion.

Another told the woman she's talking about a "retirement village" concept and should move into one immediately.

Another commenter suggested it should be the other way around, saying, "I'm more frequently disturbed by adults' bad behaviour than children's."

Then there was the viewer who saw it from an entirely different perspective, writing, "More kid friendly places so that us mums can take our screaming kids there to let off some energy.

"I need a break too."

To her credit, the creator responded that there should "absolutely" be more areas for kids, sharing that she wouldn't complain about dedicated children's spaces.

"I definitely understand you can't control everything your kids do as well which is why it would be great if there were areas where they just weren't allowed to be - and then nobody has to feel bad or guilty or irritated."

She added, "I'm not bagging on families existing just sometimes want a quiet break haha."
