Mum-of-two, Tink, loves to experiment with her style.

With multi-coloured hair, an array of tattoos and some facial piercings, the British mum is proud of her unique look.

So is her 12-year-old daughter, Ruby.

In fact, she was so enamoured with her mum’s style choices she wanted to match them.

Mum shamed for piercing her 12yo daughter's nose

“Remind me to never do something like this again!”

Tink took to TikTok to explain her daughter’s request.

“So, Ruby has decided she wants her nose pierced,” the mum-of-two began before asking her followers if she should allow it to happen.

She explained she would let her daughter get a nose piercing if the video gained 25,000 likes. This was achieved in a flash and has amassed over 86,000 likes in the few days since it was uploaded.

In a follow-up video, she said she was a “person of [her] word” but to “remind” her to “never do something like this again.”

The mother-daughter duo uploaded a third video, showing Tink suited up in blue gloves and ready to pierce her daughter’s nose.

In the video, the British mum used a piercing clamp to secure the stud to the right nostril.

Seconds later, the pair return to the camera, smiling and dancing as they show off the 12-year-old’s new face jewel.

12yo got “slap on the wrist” by school for new facial piercings

Ruby’s school in the UK doesn’t allow any facial piercings, and even though Ruby looked very happy with the result, it didn’t stop her teachers from giving her mum a call after school.

However, Tink said she “knew” that would happen.

“The teacher did stop Ruby and was like, they’ve got a no face piercing rule at the school so we need to abide by it,” she continued.

“We did get told off,” she added. “We did get a slap on the wrist, and she was told that she wasn’t allowed to any lessons until they’d spoken to me.”

After discussing the situation with her Year 7 teacher, the pair “came to a compromise”.

Ruby would cover her nose piercing with a small bandage until the skin healed properly. Then she would swap out the stud for a see-through bar, which is easier to hide for school.

“My daughter wanted something to make her feel good - so that’s what I did”

While the mum and daughter were pleased with the piercing, others online were less than impressed.

“What an amazing mum - not,” wrote one disgruntled person. This prompted a response from Tink, asking why an adult would “bully” a 12-year-old for her choices.

“In a world where schools are struggling to deal with bullies, and kids are getting picked on for anything possible — their teeth, their ears, their eyes, their height — they get bullied for absolutely everything,” Tink explained.

“If my child has come to me asking to have something done that makes her feel good about herself in a place that’s so horrible, that’s why I’ve done it.

“She wanted that to make herself feel good, so I’d done it for her.”

Others supported the decision and flooded the daughter with compliments.

“It looks so good!” wrote a fan. “It really suits her!” said another.

“They can’t tell you what to do with your child,” a person commented.
