‘I wanted a slightly bigger butt, and woke up looking like Shrek’

A single mum of four kids has warned that there is no “quick fix” to feeling confident after revealing her regret over her cosmetic surgery.

A Sydney mum has shared her regret over going under the knife for a procedure to make her butt look bigger.

Tori Dejong posted a video to TikTok revealing she wishes she never had a Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL, which she did to feel more “confident”.

The mum-of-four had the major cosmetic surgery three years ago in the hopes of getting a “slightly bigger” bum, but now compares herself to the animated character “Shrek”.

What is a BBL?

A BBL is the term for buttock fat grafting, an elective cosmetic procedure which can cost around $11,000 and involves removing fat from one part of the body via liposuction and transplanting it into the bum for a fuller, perkier effect.

In a TikTok video, which has attracted 350,000 views, Dejong shared that she now hates her backside and added that her mother warned her against the body alteration.

In text on the video, the Sydney mum wrote, “me trying to convince my mum getting a BBL was a smart idea and her reply was 'I told you so' and correct advice so now I’m stuck with a huge ass I don’t want any more”.

In the caption alongside the video, she warned other people, “learn from me - a BBL is not the 'quick fix' to feeling confident. Well I actually never wanted a huge ass just slightly bigger and woke up looking like Shrek.”

In the comment section she shared that she was in the process of legal proceedings against the doctor for her disappointing results.

Dejong added that wanted to look like “Kim K” but “now I look stupid”.

"Probably the best I've seen"

Despite her dissatisfaction, users on the page encouraged Dejong saying her transformation was a positive one.

“It looks so natural,” one wrote. Another person said, “yours is actually cute, it’s not too big”.

While a third said, “if it makes you feel better your BBL is probably the best I’ve seen. Looks so natural and fits your proportions”.

One user commented, “I wouldn’t call it huge but it looks great on you.”

Others related to her misery saying, “I had two plus tummy tucks and breast augmentation and I still look regular af”.

Another person added, “Oh my gosh this. I regret it so much honestly".

The butt procedure has grown in popularity in recent years, inspired by celebrities such as the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce.

In 2018, the operation raised alarms after a number of complications and deaths.

According to the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the mortality rate for BBLs is estimated to be one in every 3000 operations — meaning it has a higher rate of death than any other cosmetic procedure.
