Anyone who is responsible for feeding kids knows that hacks for convenience and price can save your sanity.

Fed is best, right?

But a mum feeding her tribe of 12 - yes, you read that right - has gone viral this week for a dinner hack that many have slammed as being "unhygienic".

#NachoPool is a thing thanks to the Dougherty Dozen

Alicia Dougherty has 12 kids with her husband, and regularly posts about her life behind-the-scenes on her TikTok, where she has over 6.1 million followers.

As you can imagine, her days involve a lot of mass food preparation - like this epic but controversial birthday dinner. But her #NachoPool - as she coined it - has gone viral because viewers have found it as inspiring as it is... dubious.

The clip, which amassed over 2.9 million views, shows how Alicia prepares a plastic baby wading pool as one mass dish of nachos.

She begins by pouring tortilla chips on the bottom of the pool before adding minced meat, cheese sauce, lettuce, olives, tomatoes, and sour cream.

Most of this is straight from tins - so, cold - except for the cheese, which seems to be melted.

At the end of the clip, the family is seen digging into the wading pool with their hands... no forks or napkins... and using a lot of double-dipping.

"Is it too much to ask for hot nachos?"

As to be expected, the comments section was full of epic one-liners about the novel way to prepare and serve a meal.

"Is it too much to ask for hot nachos?"

"This barely enough for us two"

"This looks straight out of extreme cheap skates"

"Hear me out... will it float?"

And our favourite: "This has gotta be a hate crime."

"Unhygienic and disgusting"

Then there were those who were disturbed by the hygiene aspect of eating en masse, without any thought to sanitation, such as this woman who wrote: "My anxiety could never with all of the hands and the double dipping."

Another added, "Not sure the pool is food safe but yolo."

And this viewer baulked at the concept, "I can't get down with the communal eating."

However, that did not seem to be a concern of Alicia's in any way, as she's probably thinking with 12 kids that the family who plays (with their food) together, stays together!
