Convicted international drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury has dropped a whopping four dress sizes in five months, sharing a photo of her newly honed body on Instagram.

The South Australian, who was jailed for three years after attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Columbia, said her transformation was down to a “lot of hard work”.

In a post on Friday, she shared a snap of her toned stomach, with the simple caption “Sun 1- Cassie 0” after getting sunburnt.

The 27-year-old also revealed how she started a “fitness program” back in March. By early August she had slimmed down from a size 12 to between a six and an eight.

“ … since March this year I have managed to lose 4 sizes,” she shared in her Instagram stories. “In Feb/March I was a size 12 (put weight on due to some personal and health issues) – today I can comfortably fit into a size 6/8.”

She went on to say that her drastic weight loss had inspired her to create a fitness program for women wanting to change their body shape.

“It’s called the hourglass challenge – for those ladies who want to achieve the hourglass look. It will be released soon.”

Ms Sainsbury, a former gym owner originally from the Yorke Peninsula, was caught with 5.8kg of cocaine in her luggage as she tried to leave Columbia in April 2017.

She was soon known internationally as “Cocaine Cassie”, and was sentenced to six years inside Columbia’s notorious El Buen Pastor prison.

She only served three years before spending two years on parole in South America.

In September last year, she returned to Australia with wife Tatiana, and has since been living in Adelaide.

Life back in her home country has not been easy, confessed Ms Sainsbury in March this year, telling Sky News how she has struggled to find friends and even gets called “murderer” in the street by strangers.

“I quite often get told that I’m a murderer, that I’m quite conniving and cold and don’t show remorse,” she said.

“People can’t show emotions because that’s a sign of weakness so I buried the sadness and I’d feel I pretty much got to a point where it would explode. I’m not this nasty person.”
