A popular bathroom item from one of Australia’s biggest budget retailers has sold out online as many give it the tick of approval.

Shoppers have been posting rave reviews of Kmart’s $15 Stone Dry Bathmat and Tray Set, which boasts it will “keep your feet and bathroom accessories dry”.

Many shoppers were sceptical over the product quick drying claims, so social media user @huda.bilal put it to the test.

“Time to test out this new Kmart Stone Dry Bathmat,” Huda said on TikTok, before pouring water all over it.

She showed how the mat looked after 10 minutes and again after it had been left to dry for 15 minutes.

“The mat’s absorption game is strong,” Huda concluded after the mat appeared to be completely dry.

She said the mat didn’t have a smell and even came with sandpaper to clean it.

Huda wasn’t the only one who thought it would be good to put the mat to the test, with social media user @ashleejayinteriors checking to see if it would work in her kids’ bathroom.

She said she put some extra water on it and it was “drying quicker than she could film” and that after a “few minutes” she was “impressed”.

Other social media users were intrigued by how the bath mat worked, with some wondering about different uses for it.

“My peanut brain is peanutting … where does the water go? How much is its capacity? Does the magic water rock get mouldy in there,” one social media user said.

Another said: “Wondering if this would be a good idea for a dish drying mat.”

“I had one but not a Kmart brand it works well. If you have white tiles make sure you always move it or wipe underneath every use cause it does make your white tiles dirty,” one added.

One social media user said: “I’d desperately would like to get my hands on one but they sell out quickly.”

A Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au customers loved the Stone Dry Bathmat and Tray set due to it’s design and quick drying feature.

“The design of the Stone Dry Bathmat and Tray Set is inspired by minimalist and natural aesthetics, aiming to bring a touch of spa-like tranquillity and practicality to home bathrooms,” the spokesperson said.

“This product is perfect for any bathroom due to its ability to quickly absorb moisture, its durability, and its elegant design that complements various bathroom styles.”

It’s not the only new Kmart item that shoppers are raving about, with the retailer recently causing a stir with its $15 Anko Microwave Toastie Maker, prompting the Australian brand to declare it the item of the season.

“It goes in the microwave for three minutes, I think half way through you have to flip it over to ensure its crispness,” Kmart’s Divisional Merchandise Manager Meryn Serong told news.com.au recently.

“We often talk about the power of one item and how much joy that can bring to our customers, this item is definitely the one of the season.”

Shoppers went nuts when the gadget, which makes “crispy” toasties in just minutes”, appeared on shelves – with some describing it as a “game-changer”.

“My kids will love this, and it’s MUCH quicker to clean than a sandwich press and much easier to make than in a pan,” one declared online.

“So good for a quick snack,” another mused.

While a third said: “This is perfect because our kitchen has no room for a sandwich press.”
