Starring on the cover of Vogue Australia, Bior is following in the footsteps of his international superstar sister Adut Akech.
Well, not quite literally – Adut, who came to Adelaide with her family as a child refugee from Africa and is now based in LA, made her professional debut on the runway walking.
Now widely regarded as the world’s top model, Adut kicked off her career at 2016 Fashion Week Australia in Sydney; she appeared in no less than 16 parades including Bec & Bridge, Romance Was Born and Toni Maticevski.
Bior was launched onto the fashion scene via Vogue Australia when Adut’s Adelaide-based family were featured in the magazine’s November 2018 issue.
And now he is on the cover of the April edition of the fashion bible, starring alongside his famous sister, Adut – make that three stunning covers for collectable editions, which is a brilliant way to make your debut as a model.
Bior is still in his teens, like Adut was when, as a 16-year-old, she lit up the runway for Saint Laurent at Paris Fashion Week just months after her stint at Fashion Week Australia.
At 17, Bior is also signed to Chadwick Models, the Aussie agency that propelled his sister to global success.
In Vogue Australia, Adut talks about their bond; Bior is her only brother and she was in the room, aged seven, when he was born.
“He’s my little baby. I raised him basically since that day, and I watched him grow up from then to this point,” Adut tells the magazine.
Featuring three collectable covers, the April issue of Vogue Australia is on sale on Monday.
