South Australia’s top international models and rising stars revealed

You’d have to be living under a rock to have not heard of Adelaide supermodel Adut Akech. Here’s more SA stunners making a name for themselves.

Never before has South Australia been home to so many models making their mark on the international fashion scene. Confidential takes a look at the 10 big names and rising stars who got their start in Adelaide.

ADUT AKECH

Turning 21 on Christmas Day, Adut’s officially the No 1 model in the world. The title was bestowed upon her at the prestigious British Fashion Awards, not long after Meghan Markle chose her to appear on the cover of British Vogue.

If this Finesse model’s face looks familiar, it’s because she’s appeared in countless campaigns for brands, such as Country Road, Trenery, Seed and Just Jeans, and on the pages of Vogue.

Based in New York, this former aged care worker was discovered in 2017 by Finesse. Since then she’s walked for high-end houses, such as Chanel and Prada, and starred in a global campaign for MAC.

Chosen by Grace Coddington to feature in US Vogue, Pride Models’ Madi has walked for Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana and is the face of Paolo Sebastian’s new Heirloom collection.

On the books at Pride, Emma’s been an Oscar de la Renta bride at Sydney’s MBFWA, walked for Chanel in Melbourne and opened the show for Armani at Milan Fashion Week ... and all before she turned 21 in October.

The cousin of Adut Akech, Agi’s also a superstar. Signed with Pride, she appeared on the runway for Givenchy and Valentino earlier this year, catching the eye of the team at vogue.com who gave her a shout out as a “standout”.

Pictured here getting her make-up done backstage at Anna Sui, Lily Nova’s the quirky queen of the catwalk. Scouted by Finesse at the Adelaide Fashion Festival when she was 15, the now 23-year-old has walked for Gucci eight times and appeared in two campaigns for MAC Cosmetics.

Signed with Azalea Models, this 18-year-old rising star made her international runway debut at Dior in February. She’s also modelling for Maticevski, Camilla and MECCA.

Named by the Sunday Mail as one of 20 South Aussies to watch in 2020, Vi’s more than proved us right. Featuring in a Napoleon Perdis campaign and all the glossies, including Vogue, the Finesse model is about to take on the world.

She’s modelled in Tokyo, London, Paris, Germany and right here in Australia, where the Finesse model has been in demand with brands such as Jac + Mooki, Sir and General Pants.
